Welcome to Hawkwood Golden
Retrievers

This kennel was
established in 1971 when I got my first
English Setter. These I enjoyed showing and occasionally breeding, until moving
into Golden Retrievers with the purchase of my first
bitch Phoebe (Charterhall Paper Moon) in 1994. Things really got underway
with the purchase of Lydia from the late Margaret Evans' Vanrose kennels.
Vanrose April Gold was from the Stanroph and Sansue
lines in the UK and became the basis of my future breeding. Scotty (NZ
Ch Stanroph Super Scott) came in from Anne Woodcock's Stanroph
kennels in the UK. And that, as they say, was that
. . . the Goldens took over.
My partner Paul Mason (Veterinary Parasitologist), and
I live on a small lifestyle block outside Rolleston, Canterbury, New
Zealand. We breed about one carefully considered litter a year
from quality bitches. All stock have current health
certificates.
To us, our dogs are all individuals and each is special.
